What were your roles in this project? How did you collaborate?
N: We are all friends and we have been collaborating before as a team. We all work very easily together. Kristian takes the photos, Sara and I style the outfits together, and then we put them on ourselves and arrange an interesting image all together.
S: We planned the location together, seeking a place that could be perfect for this occasion. Nico and I styled the outfits and also modeled, and Kristian took the pictures. Perfect team in so many ways.
K: I took the photos. That wasn’t that hard since Sara and Nicole had a strong idea of what they wanted. It was a lot of fun.
How are the images influenced by the collection’s Twin Peaks inspiration?
N: We went to our friend Fredrik’s country house to be able to get a similar isolated atmosphere as in the Twin Peaks locations. We wanted a Swedish take on Twin Peaks, just like the Dagmar collection. And also we wanted to show a strong woman but also a special, mystical one.
K: But, the forests around Köping are not Twin Peaks. That wasn’t a bad thing. They bring a Scandinavian feeling to it, which also goes well with the Dagmar look.
S: Pale woman in dark woods are the words that comes to mind when you think of Twin Peaks. Taking those words and bringing in mystery from the forest, focusing on the material wood and placing yourself close to a flood really brought us closer to the small town of Twin Peaks.
Nico and Sara, you both work from the studio, Borgmästargatan 6. How does that space reflect your collaborative work and personal friendship?
S: Always helping each other out. Lending clothes/shoes/accessories. Inspiring each other, giving second opinions on work. But first of all, just being there for one another in life.
N: It is amazing to share a studio together with one of your best friends, it all feels very blessed. And the space reflects our mutual tastes in interior design. The space is very bright, white and filled with clothes of course. It’s a perfect place for being creative and collaborating on new ideas together.
Tell us about your project AMAZE – what have you done and in what way is it experimental?
N: Amaze is a project thats been going on for almost 2 years. Its a space for creativity and for freedom in expression. Amaze is about presenting what we feel is needed and that needs more attention at the moment. Amaze is very fluid and can change concept and form. It is experimental in the way that it is a project that is constantly developing and searches for the unexpected.
S: Showing fashion and combining it with art. We are constantly developing and changing what Amaze could be, seeking new way of expression in all creative aspects.
You have said before that you’re “the same person but in different materials”. What differentiates you when it comes to style and work?
N: We share so many references, we like a lot of the same things. But work wise I’m more focused on fashion and Sarah works very creatively in movies and she does such major projects that I don’t even understand how she gets it all together. I’m also way more messy in my aesthetic. I like some real crazy shit.
S: I’m more in to the movies, made up worlds and stories but also real life situations. I don’t work that much in fashion as Nicole, she creates her own world in the fashion scene which is unique and so inspiring. Sometimes our world collides and melt into the same.
What are your favorite pieces from Dagmar’s AW16 collection?
S: The Alida coat is a really nice piece, but also the leather pants and skirt!
N: I really like the classic coats and outerwear. Makes you want fall and winter to arrive SOON.
Which pieces in the collection can you see influencing your personal styles?
N: I think all the cut-out pieces are really inspiring, I really love showing my shoulders and back and can definilty see myself getting influenced by some of the nice cut-out pieces in the collection.
S: Loving the outerwear, I can really see myself in a coat (Alida) this fall, but also loving the leather skirt and turtleneck. That really goes along with my style!
